Compression or Standard Cubes?
Packing cubes divide the inside of a suitcase so clothes stay in groups instead of shifting into one pile. The first choice is between compression and standard cubes. Compression cubes have a second zipper that presses the packed contents flatter, which helps when a bag is close to full. Standard cubes hold and separate without compressing, and they are faster to pack and unpack. Set composition is the other difference. Sets come with cubes in several sizes, with larger ones for folded shirts and trousers and smaller ones for underwear, socks, and swimwear, so the number and mix of cubes decides how finely you can sort. Panel style varies too. Mesh tops let you see what is inside without unzipping, while solid panels keep contents hidden. One thing worth knowing about compression: it reduces the space clothes take up. It does not reduce their weight, so airline weight limits still apply. Before ordering, measure the inside of your luggage, since a set sized for a checked suitcase will waste space in a carry-on.
